Last One Out

Gosh, I feel like I post more apologies for my being away from writing that I do actual writing. I'm sorry, again, over and over. I've started to get back to the core of what blogging is for me, which is a release. That's the essence of this all. I don't want to ever feel pressured to create content that isn't really me.

Anyways, these past couple of weeks have been crazy. Midterms wrapped up, I got to relax a little during spring break, and I moved forward with most of my planning for my excursions this summer. On top of all that, I officially applied the little guy for elementary school to start this fall. It's been crazy, jam-packed, but this is normal. This is my life.

I always feel like spring is the "end of the year." That might be because I've been so used to wrapping things up at work during our fiscal year-end during the second quarter of the year. It might also be because school is wrapping up in two months. That's crazy. It's been a whirlwind finally going back full-time, but I wouldn't have traded that decision for anything.

These days, I'm finding myself to be the last one out of every place I plant myself at to do work. I'm the last one out of the office, last one out of class, last one out of the commons. The only place where I'm not the last one out is home, where I'm the first one to leave and the last one to come home. I almost feel like a phantom, elusive, nowhere in sight unless I make my presence known.

Spring Forward

As busy as this part of the year usually is for me, I love it all the more. Spring seems to be the perfect season for endings, although it leaps us into the second quarter of the year. I just always felt a sort of happiness during this season. It's the season that leads to the end of the school year. It's that time of year that people graduate, make plans for summer, or just look forward to getting a break

In Alaska, this is the time of year where we gain more daylight, which is a concept that I've found to be difficult to explain to people who've never been near the Arctic Circle.  Alaskans count down to the minutes and seconds of daylight gained during spring. It won't be long until summer when we have more than 24 hours of daylight The sun won't set until 3 am, only to rise again at 4:30 am

How's spring going for you?
